The Childcare on-line Booking (CoB) system now supports Paypal Express Checkout, enabling schools and after school clubs to collect payments via parents’ Paypal account. The parents can link their Paypal accounts to debit and credit cards, or even directly to their bank account. Payment is instantaneous, so as administrators you do not need to manually reconcile when a payment is received cutting down the time needed to administer the system.
Paypal works differently from a standard Payment Service Provider and Internet Merchant Account, which is why we offer alternative providers (SagePay and WorldPay). Of all the solutions, Paypal is the easiest to set up and receive payments. All you will require is a Paypal Business Account to get started. In terms of linking the two systems together it is simply a case of providing the registered e-mail address for your Paypal account and we will create the App within your account. Generally you will not need an Internet Merchant Account to set this up as Paypal can link straight into your business’s bank account. Despite the advantages you should be aware of Paypal’s fees and rules regarding fraud and chargebacks.
