Today’s world is busy, hectic and we have so many things to think about: children’s breakfast club, after school club, holiday camps etc., Have we booked our childcare via The Childcare on-line Booking (CoB) system? Have we put fuel in the car, what’s for tea, busy, busy, busy! There is one thing that we all have to do at some stage and that is creating a secure password for an on-line account for on-line shopping, because we don’t have time at the end of our day, to go to the supermarket.
It can be hard to reach a work / life balance, just ask any working parent these days. We get distracted, by constant demands on our time and can become careless in an attempt to get tings done quicker. It only takes a few extra seconds to create a password that could potentially save us from hours, weeks or even months of stress, if our on-line accounts are hacked. Our data could fall into the wrong hands, our identify stolen, the list is endless and stress to match. It can have a serious domino effect and I am not talking about the pizza variety either.
Try to think of your password as a game of hide and seek, you are hiding your valuables and hackers are trying to get it. We want to win the game, it’s child’s play, so please stay safe and don not re-use passwords.
Our top tip
Use a password locker that will not only securely keep your passwords, but can also help create them. They are in-expensive and easy to use; a great example is Avast Internet Security suite that includes a privacy module and you can generate strong passwords from within your browser windows and store them safely.
Also, always use Two Factor Aurthentication (2FA) where available, as this acts as another line of defense.
